Whatever the requirement, from a single day’s consultancy to a complete integrated package, our consultants have the ability to add value to our clients’ businesses, helping to evolve business opportunities, bring products to market faster, incorporate new technologies and deal with complex international regulations.

Master planning and process development we can deliver objective, holistic, rigorous and robust master planning services with the potential to yield production savings as significant as an extra two years’ value at full patent. The business also produces feasibility development plans that offer flexibility, consider future options and provide the best strategic management of clients’ assets for the long-term.

Business optimisation and operational improvements our wealth of experience and world-class expertise means that we can help determine clients’ key business objectives, intelligently manage challenges and assist with all areas of strategic planning. This expertise has been applied to multi-national consolidations, mergers and acquisitions, start-up ventures and small biotech expansions, in each case translating boardroom strategy into practical implementation.

IT and equipment design and implementation to ensure that IT and automation systems support clients’ business processes, our team of experts conduct detailed reviews of business operations and objectives, assess users’ requirements and consider future business challenges and requirements. Careful equipment design and selection, matched to commercial objectives, ensures the best return on capital investment with flexibility for future change.

Compliance we conduct detailed reviews, assess risks and challenge and formulate effective plans to manage regulatory compliance throughout the lifetime of each project. We provide a holistic approach to systems, policies and strategies and can undertake regulatory compliance assessments and gap analyses, offer training and provide validation services and regulatory audit support. The Technology Division maintains close relationships with all the regulatory authorities and international standard-setting organisations, and can provide unrivalled levels of regulatory compliance advice.

Validation and regulatory compliance we have has adopted a 'complete' approach to validation and ongoing support, not only during start-up when new facilities, equipment and utilities are specified and designed but also throughout all stages of development and into validation. As well as producing concise, relevant validation master plans and carrying out design reviews and vendor evaluations, the service extends to project quality plans, site acceptance tests and integrated field inspections. This unique approach to validation management has enabled the business to help raise industry standards and introduce Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) protocols throughout the world.

Technology transferwe have a wealth of experience in the transfer of business operations and manufacturing processes, not only within the same country but also across countries and regions worldwide. This specialist knowledge helps to keep clients fully informed of any potential industry issues, as well as budget requirements, programming and regulatory concerns relating to their own projects.

    Start-up
The importance of early planning to ensure timely transition from project completion to physical production can never be underestimated in any project. Following the completion of the construction and validation phases of a project, there is typically a period of time before a manufacturing facility can be running at optimum capacity. Our dedicated project teams have the specialist skills and experience needed to plan for an early start-up and are able to facilitate the process by making the right decisions at the right time.

WhiteBOX Bovis Lend Lease invests heavily in developing sophisticated tools to achieve efficiencies for its clients at every stage of the project life cycle. The WhiteBOX software, developed by the Technology Division, is the most cost effective and efficient building delivery tool available. It allows users to interact with their buildings at the design stage and, through 3D visualisations of progress against time, accelerates approvals and manages change. Post-completion, WhiteBOX aids facilities management by enabling users to click on any building component and view its design specifications and history instantly. WhiteBOX can reduce the cost of a capital project by a minimum of three per cent.

    Delivery

The Technology Division’s globally focused, multi-disciplined teams of dedicated specialists collaborate to develop innovative and strategic solutions to help clients gain competitive advantage.

The teams operate within a performance-related culture, fully focused on the delivery of clients’ project requirements in an environment that generates solutions to increase the value of their assets.

By combining their expertise with local resources and knowledge, the division has been instrumental in raising industry standards, improving processes and finding relevant and sustainable solutions for a variety of challenges.

Pre-construction and strategic procurement we bring our extensive knowledge of development, construction, design and procurement within easy reach at the earliest stages in programme development. In order to achieve cost-effective equipment procurement, maximum time is spent with end-users and with recommended suppliers before order placement. Then, working closely with clients’ in-house specialists, a centralised procurement process ensures consistency across specification, price, terms and conditions.

Design and engineering we seek to inject our design and engineering expertise at the earliest planning stages. The earlier designers and engineers are involved in the major decisions that shape a project, the more they can contribute to cost, time and quality factors during the construction programme. Their dedication to improving working methods in the technology sector has resulted in advanced programmes that highlight potential problems early in the design process, offering clients unrivalled levels of efficiency and superior results.

Construction management our experience in managing the construction of technological facilities makes us the ideal partner for clients’ businesses, irrespective of the size, location or complexity of their projects. Construction teams include experts with the skills, attitude, knowledge and experience to help clients realise their business objectives. They have the knowledge of compliance and regulatory needs, as well as automation requirements and issues, to ensure that every project performs technically as well as commercially.
